Dear Parents and Carers

I hope this newsletter finds you well as we approach the festive season. There have been some wonderful events and activities happening at St Marys in recent weeks.

Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to Miss Hampshire for organising a visit from Katriona Perrett who ran a fantastic Mindfulness assembly and workshops last week. The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about the importance of mindfulness and how it can positively impact their well-being.

Through role play, pupils practiced empathy and compassion to help them become aware of how they think, speak and behave with each other.

We also recently had a successful writing moderation session with the English Leader from The Trust and our local GST primary schools. It was reassuring to have our teacher assessments validated, confirming the high standard of education we provide here at St Marys.

As we approach the festive season, preparations for the Christmas Fair on Saturday are well underway. The children have been busy making beautiful gifts to sell, and they have been practicing their Christmas Carols to spread joy and cheer. The weather forecast for the day looks perfect, and we are eagerly looking forward to welcoming you all. Please mark your calendars for the Christmas Fair on Saturday from 12 to 2.30pm. The singing performances will commence at 12.30pm, so be sure not to miss it!

In the spirit of Christmas, we will be setting up our Christmas card box from the 1st of December. Please ensure that children’s names and classes are clearly written on the envelopes to ensure smooth distribution.

Furthermore, starting from Friday 1st December, our beautiful Nativity scene will be on display outside the office, for all to enjoy. The Reception and KS1 classes are diligently preparing for their Nativity performances on the 14th and 15th of December. We cannot wait to witness their incredible talent and share in the joy of this special time of year.

Finally, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our wonderful PTA for all of their hard work in the lead up to the Christmas Fair and all the parents and carers who continuously support our school.

Warm regards,
Mrs Buckley
