Year 4 Home Learning Activities
Year 4 Home Learning Tasks
Dear parents and carers,
As you know, the school has been closed for the time being due to the current outbreak of COVID-19. Here I have provided a number of home learning tasks for Year 4 children to complete while they are off school. There is plenty for the children to be getting on with:
- General maths activities and sums
- Times tables
- Reading comprehensions
- Writing tasks
There is also a document with some online learning links too, which you may find useful.
Our Topic of WW2 has nearly come to an end but we haven’t had much chance to learn about make do and mend, dig for victory or war-time cooking, so perhaps these are things that you could look at together in the coming weeks.
Our Science topic this term has been ‘Living Things and their Habitats’ and the children have really enjoyed this. We have covered most of this topic, looking at habitats around the world, classifying animals (including grouping mammals, insects and other species in the same families), hunting for mini-beasts and even doing some detailed observational drawings. There is a lot still to look at so you could consider growing some plants at home and recording their growth, practising creating classification keys using sweets (always fun!) or using some of the online resources from the Woodland Trust or RSPB.
I hope you find these resources useful, please don’t hesitate to contact me during term time and school hours if you have any problems or questions.
