Week 3 w/b 4th May

Well done for all your hard work last week, Year 2! We have received some lovely writing in response to ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’, and plenty of intelligent predictions about what is going to happen to your sunflower seeds. Please keep sending us examples of your work, as we love to see what you have been doing.

This week’s activities are listed on the overview sheet as before, and the accompanying resources can all be found below. Of course, if you have any questions, please do get in touch and we will do our best to help.

Maths: This week’s Maths looks a little different to the previous two weeks as we are going to revise what we have learnt about addition and subtraction. You will notice that there is just one activity for everyone – there are no 1, 2 and 3 star challenges this time - so please just do your best to answer all of the questions.

There are video tutorial links available to support the learning for all of these lessons, which are accessible here:  There will be a challenge posted on the White Rose website for Friday.

Science: By now, you should have picked up your seeds and bulb from the Londis store on the Petworth Road in Chiddingfold and planted them all in separate pots. If you haven’t done this yet, please do get sowing and growing as quickly as possible! In Science this week, we will be taking a closer look at the life cycle of a sunflower and (hopefully) observing growth in at least one of your pots. We suggest that you leave it until Wednesday to do this lesson to give the seeds time to germinate.

If you are impatient, you could have a look at this video to see what is going to happen to your seed:  This is a nice overview of the life cycle.

Have a great week!
