Week 10 29th June

What a scorcher it has been this past week!  We hope you have had a great week and have been enjoying the sunshine.  The highlight of our week was being able to see so many of you on our class zoom calls! It was so lovely to see your smiling faces and to hear your news, but we couldn’t believe how many teeth are missing from our Year 2 children!  Only 3 more weeks of home learning to go, and we’re looking forward to welcoming as many of you as possible back to school on the 3rd and 10th July.  Keep up the fantastic work Year 2, we’re so proud of all of you!

Maths:  This week we are continuing to learn about measurement, as we being to look at mass, volume and capacity.  Video tutorials to support your learning are available on the White Rose website: https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-2/ or on the BBC Bitesize website: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/tags/z7s22sg/year-2-and-p3-lessons

Literacy & Creative: This week our learning is based around the story ‘A Tale of Two Feathers’, and leads to learning about nocturnal and diurnal animals.  There are lots of creative tasks linked to this story, as well as a mystery maths investigation which we know many of you enjoy solving!

Have a brilliant week Year 2!  If you have any questions, or need any further help or support, please get in touch via Seesaw or e-mail.

Best wishes,

Mrs Evans & Mrs Porter
