School Trips & Residential Stays
Visits are an integral part of the wider curriculum at St. Mary’s. A wide range of educational visits are organised to museums, galleries, farms, historical sites and the theatre. These are linked to the topic being studied by the children in the year group.
Local visits include going to the Chiddingfold Archive at the Banking House to learn about the local community or visiting the Village churches. For Reception class it may simply be a walk to the post office to post a letter they have written.
When your child joins St Mary's you will be asked to sign a consent form to cover all local visits during their time at the School. For day visits and residentials you receive a full pack of information about the visit and forms to complete requesting consent, contact details, medical details and payment.
Year 4 children enjoy a 1 night stay at Henley Fort.
Year 5 children enjoy a 3 night stay at High Ashurst Activity Centre or PGL.
After their SATs Year 6 children enjoy a one week residential trip to the Christian Youth Enterprise (CYE) Centre at Chidham in West Sussex. Here they have the opportunity to experience sailing in a variety of dinghies, kayaking, archery and and orienteering.
