Reception Summer Term Week 1 w/b 20th April
I hope you all had a lovely Easter in the sunshine!
I have been busy planning lots of lovely home learning activities for you for the next half term. I have planned the tasks and activities to a theme and topic, in the same way I do at school. The activities are in sequence and will continue your child’s learning journey. Our next learning topic is 'Growth and Change' and over the next few weeks this will include the themes 'Signs of Spring' and 'Jack and the Beanstalk'.
Each week I will send you daily learning tasks on Seesaw. I will signpost them on their journal, then just click on the ‘Activities’ tab for the details and instructions. If you can complete these together and send me a photo and a comment, I can give you feedback to support and develop their next steps. The tasks are designed to be fun, active and manageable at home. It is up to you how much time you spend on each, do what you can - even a little every day will help them to progress in their learning.
Many of you have been asking for advice as to how best to support your children during the tasks, please continue to do so, I am here to help you and them. You are effectively undertaking a crash course in teaching and there is often more to it than meets the eye! With this in mind, I have also written some notes to support you that I hope will help.
Please see the letter to parents below. You can also click on the link to see an overview of the weekly tasks and some additional, suggested activities to compliment the learning should you be wanting more.
You are all doing a great job. I am really missing the children - teaching through video is a poor substitute but I hope it is keeping us connected and in touch until we can see each other again.
Stay well and safe!
