This term we are concentrating on developing the Prime Areas of learning as the children settle into their new classes. The children are learning the new routines and expectations of school life and we are supporting them in forming positive relationships, sharing and taking turns, and developing listening and attention skills. We encourage the children to make choices about what they would like to do and what they will need to do it, fostering independence and creative thinking.

Our initial topic during the first half term is 'Nursery Rhymes' followed by  'Autumn and Celebrations' as we move through the term.

We will be learning about rhyme and initial letters sounds in Literacy; developing early writing and mark making skills in Physical Development; exploring shape and building number skills to 5 and 10 in Maths.

As we learn through play and plan lessons following the children's interests, we look forward to exploring further surprise learning opportunities with your children too.
