Empty Classroom Day - June 2015

On Friday 19th June, St Mary's School had an Empty Classroom Day where we had the opportunity to take our learning outdoors!

Year 3 enjoyed lots of great activities in the sunshine, including an Art workshop with Mr. Strutt where we explored the natural colours in the environment, and experimented with different tools, media and colour blends to create a large class image of a Summer Tree.

We also carried out a Science investigation outdoors, comparing how far a toy car will travel on different surfaces.

In the afternoon, we had our usual music lesson but with an outdoor twist.  We were lucky enough to learn all about the Didgeridoo, and even had a go at playing them ourselves!
